Welcome to St. Rose Domincan Hospitals Here, you find timeless values. Tradition. And compassion. Since 1947, St. Rose Dominican Hospitals have been inspired by the values of their sponsors, the Adrian Dominican Sisters, whose tradition of caring for the disenfranchised dates back to twelfth-century France. Today, you and your colleagues continue this tradition as the only not-for-profit, religiously sponsored hospital system in southern Nevada.
All three campuses–Rose de Lima, Siena and San Martín–unite in offering a full range of services that make a difference in patients’ lives. With so much to offer, St. Rose Dominican Hospitals provide the culture of support and a path for the career growth you’ve always wanted.
Working at St. Rose
This program is to say “Thank You” to employees that work for our hospitals; to make new friends from other departments; to enjoy an evening out and relax with your peers. All “Nominees” are recognized at a monthly event held at all three campuses.
The DAISY Award The DAISY Foundation was established in 2000 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who passed away at the age of 33 from complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Pupura. Having been touched by the remarkable care, clinical skills and compassion demonstrated by nurses during Patrick’s illness, the Barnes family made it their mission to honor exceptional nurses around the country. St. Rose is proud to offer The DAISY Award as a special way to recognize our nurses.
Dragon Boat Racing each October Initiated in ancient China, dragon boat racing is one of the world's fastest growing water sports. Dragon boats are 40 to 50 feet long flat water racing canoes decorated with elaborate Chinese designs. A dragon boat is propelled by a crew of 20 paddlers plus a drummer and a steer person. Dragon boat races take place in “heats” or “rounds” on water courses ranging from 250m to 1000m.
What is The Rose Regatta? The Rose Regatta is an inaugural dragon boat race and festival that will be held at Lake Las Vegas on Saturday, October 10, 2009. Teams ranging from corporate groups to families to clubs and friends will race head to head in a variety of race categories, while a fun festival environment is held shore side, all to raise money for breast cancer support services in Southern Nevada. No experience or special equipment is needed to participate.

Living in Las Vegas St. Rose Dominican Hospitals has three campuses – two in Henderson and one in Las Vegas – all in the Las Vegas valley which is situated at the southern tip of Nevada in the Great Basin – the western region between the Sierra Nevada and Wasatch mountain ranges. Its official elevation is 2,174 feet, and the valley encompasses nearly 600 square miles of land. Mountains surround the region and reach their highest elevation – 11,918 feet – at Mt. Charleston.
The cost of living in Las Vegas is lower than in many comparably-sized cities, there is no state personal income tax and property taxes are moderate.
The Las Vegas valley boasts an extraordinary quality of life with its wonderful year-round climate, beautiful communities, access to great entertainment and fine dining, cultural and recreational opportunities. While more well-known for its world-class performances on the Strip, Las Vegas and nearby communities have fine and cultural arts offerings, including performing and visual arts.
Education is a vital part of the community’s future. Clark County School District is the 5th largest in the nation with nearly 300,000 elementary and secondary students in 328 schools, 12 of which opened in 2006.
Recreational opportunities are almost limitless in and around the Las Vegas valley. Within a very short distance, enthusiasts can boat, water ski, jet ski and swim at Lake Mead Recreation Area. Hiking and rock climbing are available at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, snow skiing or boarding at Mt. Charleston and riding ATVs or horseback through the desert. Amazing national landmarks such as Death Valley, the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Valley of Fire and Zion National Park are also close by.
Traditional activities such as golf (Clark County has nearly 60 golf courses), tennis, swimming, fishing, camping, bowling, etc. are available all over the valley.
For those who prefer to watch, Las Vegas offers college sports teams, Las Vegas 51s (minor league baseball), Las Vegas Wranglers (professional hockey), rodeos and professional boxing.
