The Nevada State Public Defender is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Investigator in the Ely, Nevada office. This is an unclassified, non-exempt position that serves at the pleasure of the State Public Defender.

APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY UP TO $65,961 (Salary reflects retirement (PERS) contributions by both the employee and the employer. An employer paid contribution plan is also available with a reduced gross salary.) THE POSITION: Under the direction of case attorneys, investigates all aspects of criminal prosecutions. Cases include those in Lincoln, Eureka, and White Pine counties and state matters from the Maximum Security Prison (ESP) and other matters prosecuted by the state Attorney General. A state car and per diem is provided for travel to outlying counties.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent, experience in investigation (preferably criminal matters), good writing skills, interview skills, familiar with MS Office is helpful.
