Performs housekeeping duties. Duties include cleaning patient rooms, offices, operating rooms and lobbies; changing bed linens; sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and buffing floors; and, removing trash and hazardous materials.  &#x0D;

Requirements  &#x0D;
 &#x0D;
Education/Experience: Equivalent to graduation from high school and six (6) months of experience in janitorial or custodial work.   &#x0D;
 &#x0D;
Licensing/Certification Requirements: None required.  &#x0D;
 &#x0D;
Knowledge of: Industrial cleaning supplies; proper cleaning techniques; department and hospital safety practices and procedures; patient rights; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.  &#x0D;
 &#x0D;
Skill in: Mixing cleaning chemicals; safe use of hand equipment; working without close supervision in standard working situations; making beds and changing bed linen; proper lifting techniques; using equipment such as vacuum cleaners, mops, buffers and dollies; communicating effectively with people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties.  &#x0D;
 &#x0D;
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Mobility to work in a typical clinical setting and use standard equipment, ability to operate hand equipment, stamina to remain standing and walk for extended periods of time, strength to lift and maneuver objects, and hearing and speech to communicate effectively in-person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects. Incumbents are exposed to diseases and hazardous materials and are required to contain infectious diseases and other contaminations such as lice. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this classification.  &#x0D;

Highway Maintenance Workers perform roadway, roadside and structural maintenance activities to restore the roadway surface and maintain the integrity of State highways. &#x0D;

Under general supervision, incumbents (1) on a roadway crew perform skilled work as a certified operator on the heavy, more complex pieces of equipment on a regular, reoccurring basis and perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to the equipment as needed. In addition, incumbents may also perform back-up lead work and be responsible for quality assurance during routine maintenance activities; and perform duties on a night shift; OR (2) on a specialty crew, are responsible for full-time lead work supervision of a small work unit engaged in highway landscaping, highway signs and lighting, or pavement marking/striping activities; operating specialty equipment and accomplishing tasks within established guidelines. &#x0D;
