State Land Agents acquire, administer and dispose of lands and buildings for the State of Nevada. &#x0D;
 &#x0D;
Incumbents area assigned the most complex and controversial projects with intense public and political scrutiny, and may include leadworker responsibility for lower level State Land Agents including training, advising, and reviewing work.  &#x0D;
 &#x0D;
Coordinates with NDOW's lead negotiator and in coordination with resource Chiefs and the Division of State Lands, acquires land, water rights, buildings and interests in lands; communicates with NDOW staff, appraisers, independent contractors, representatives of the US Government, nonprofit organizations, Division of State Lands, NV Department of Justice and the general public to facilitate efficient, accurate and timely completion of NDOW's land acquisitions; with oversight from NDOW's engineer, maintains accurate and accessible databases of all water rights and other real property assigned, leased or held under the authority of NDOW and ensure clear records of ownership; arranges for disposal of NDOW excess real property; maintains records and database of NDOW employee housing; provides State Lands with documentation required on real property; and maintains current, accurate knowledge of all aspects of real estate laws, regulations, escrow procedures and appraisal principles.  &#x0D;

Education and Experience &#x0D;

1)Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, real estate, environmental or natural science, or related field and three years of professional experience, two years of which included responsibility in two or more areas of specialty to include sovereign lands; property acquisition; property leasing, management of development; easements; property appraisal; property disposal, or closely related field; OR two years of experience as a State Land Agent II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. &#x0D;
